In the year of 2019 I experienced personal tragedy when I lost my partner to suicide. I felt helpless, uninformed, and quite frankly unsupported. Drawing upon the lessons learned, I have now made it my mission to shed some light on the topic of mental illness, and help others feel understood and heard. My goal is to raise awareness around health, and make a positive impact for others as well as our planet. On this page I will provide information that has helped me heal, and will hopefully make a difference in your life as well.
"What mental health needs is more sunlight, more candor, more unashamed conversation." - Glenn Close
- Do you feel depressed some days? Are you affected by feelings of anxiety? Do you worry about things that are out of your control?
- Is suffering necessary for self growth?
- Now the question arises: How do you grow through suffering?
Please know, that you are not alone! About 1 in 4 people will be affected by a mental disorder at some point in their lives. Depression is a leading cause of disability worldwide. The effects can dramatically influence a person‘s ability to function and live a fulfilling life.
Please understand that it is not your fault! We live in a world of chaos, where fear is used as a tool to control the masses.
I believe that a certain amount of suffering is part of being alive. Nobody is always happy. Being positive at all times is just another paradigm created by our society.
Negative emotions are not evil, and we all feel them at times. The opposite is true; all emotions are healthy, as long as we process and channel them in a constructive way.
One thing is certain; we can not ignore our feelings and emotions. Suppressing them leads to increased emotional imbalance, and can cause mental as well as physical illness.
